Focal.ie on CD-ROM

    The entire focal.ie database of Irish-language terminology is now available on CD-ROM for €20, or can be downloaded in a version that can be aligned with translation software. Very useful if you have a slow internet connection or need to work offline a lot. See statements below:

    Mighty. Thanks for the heads up. I downloaded the TXT version and I'll build it into my own private "look-up in either direction database" Gaeilge-Bearla or English-Irish look-up in about 5 minutes flat. Thanks a million.

    Got it in the post myself yesterday and it works very well. The layout is quite similar to the layout of WinGléacht with the predicta-text facility on the left-hand side as you type.

    It says in the sleeve booklet that you'll be able to download all the updates for free as they improve and add to the terminology base if you already have the CD-ROM.
