    Hi,

Filling out th rewenal form for my 10 year licence and have a question...

My current licence has only category B

Can I tick category B and Category A1 and A?

    A1 - Motorcycle under 125cc

    No!

You'd have to complete your A test to do that.

You can tick every box from A to D if you so choose
but if you are only entitled to B

So you will only get B

Assuming you had category B licence for at least 10 years (from 2002 or earlier) you should be entitled to category M and W, so if you tick them you should get them on your licence.

Unless you are particularly fond of the pink slips, why not hang on till next January and get the new licence?

You're still licensed to drive but you can't produce if you're stopped or within te 14 days meaning you'll likely end up being summonsed. Did you notify the DVLA of a change of address to Ireland? If not, that's a separate UK offence. If you try to exchange, I think you need an in date licence. Bit of a catch 22.

Bullcrap. DVLA won't accept a ROI address. The DVLA don't care, not one iota.

He can exchange at anytime. Does not need to be in date.

I know damn well that the DVLA won't reissue the licence with an Irish address but the offence (in the UK) is failing to notify them of a change in address not failing to secure that a licence is updated for the new address. The OP did not state whether he had moved to Ireland permanently or temporarily (indeed I inferred that he was living here). I was unaware that an expired licence could be exchanged and hat is the important point for the OP.

That last point is presumably the "Bullcrap" as my other point was not.

    Hello there,

I have a quick question. My provisional licence recently expired and now I have to sit the theory test again, which is fine, I don't know if I have to do the RSA 12 hours of lessons thing for new drivers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

When did you first get a provisional license. Have you ever taken lessons?

I got it around 2003, renewed it after 2 years and it expired in January 2012. Yes, I did 10 lessons around 2004/2005
