I have a sky box that is connected up to tv using a hdmi cable. Every so often though there is a split interference where the tv will loose picture and a blue screen will emerge for about 2 seconds and then switches back to hdmi picture mode again.

What is the cause of this?

hdmi handshake problems, dodgy hdmi lead, (have you tried another lead)

is it directly connected to the tv,
    what make is the tv?
is there another component connected to the tv?

Yeah sky box is connected to a walker tv using a hdmi. I have a 3way hdmi hub connected up to the tv to accommodate a single hdmi output on the tv. There is a hdmi DVD player and a FTA HD box connected too.

you will have to make sure both the freesat and dvd are powered off when using the sky box then.

The dvd player is never powered on but FTA box is powered on occasionally for watching things like the rugby in RTE 2 HD.

Would a FTA box need to be powered On if it is set to record something? Other than that I would manage fine.
