I have a rake of old figures (most of the ones you've posted) and this too:

    wrestling1.jpg?w=433&h=325

They are well used though, but I wonder if they'd be worth anything?

I know that ring fetches very good prices with the box on ebay, have seen it go upwards of £50 before.

Wow I had that exact same ring, completely forgot about it until I seen this pic, it's long gone now though.

I also had this lcd hand-held WWF game, which I had also forgotten about until I watched the video rovert posted in the videos thread. Two nostalgia hits in one day

Bit of a collection, myself. Jakks, the company that used to make them before Mattel won the contract, were pricks.

I was never really big into "rare" figures, to be honest. I know there's the 1 of 5 Ultimate Warriors and 1 of 100 figures and such, but I never bothered with them. I supposed anything "rare" I have would be the 1 of 3,000 figures (RVD From his match with Cena at one night stand, Kane on the night of his unmasking).

I was actually really into this many years ago, so much so that i had a proboard website called loosejakks. The idea was to catalogue every jakks wrestling figure with loose images (as opposed to images where the figure is in the box).

A few people jumped on board with me and we had a fair few contributors from around the globe (including an Australian who has to have one of the biggest wrestling figure collections in the world). There were thousands of images on the site, and it was around for about two or three years.

Anyway, as it grew, people started requesting sub forums and such, so along with loose images of the figures, the site had anything that pretty much existed in limited quantities (replica belts, replica masks, neck pendants, teddy bears, etc.) but nothing that would be too hard to keep track of (t-shirts and DVDs for example, are produced in such great quantity that you'd never be able to keep up with them or catalogue them properly.

Anyway, as part of trying to catalogue everything possible, we included an 18+ forum that had all of the Diva playboy images. At some point, Proboards must've checked the site and felt that these images violated their terms of service (which they did, to be fair, but I seen other proboards forums with 18+ sections so assumed it was okay if it was made that you had to be verified before you could access those forums).

Anyway, without so much as a warning they deleted the entire site in one go. Thousands of photographs, hundreds of hours of people's time and a massive source for photographs of wrestling figures.

It was after that, and then Jakks losing the contract, I decided to give it a rest and stop buying. Mattel's figures look a million times better than anything Jakks have ever come out with in my opinion. I loved WWE but I hated Jakks.

The unmaskable Kane limited figure seems to be fairly "rare" these days, and capable of pulling in a fair few Euro.

While not everything would be my cup of tea, I am ridiculously jealous of KKV's collection!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 virgs1

Seems a big shame they would delete your website like that, sounded like a brilliant source. I only have a few Mattel and the detail on the elite figures are amazing, also limb movement far more advanced from jakks.

I fell out of wrestling figures since I was young but I'll be buying the new Evan Bourne one out next month - it's the first time any of the ring gear I've designed has been made onto a figure! So I can't wait!

Just a heads up, in the local Tesco and they have the TLC ring, lights sounds etc for €7.00, yip seven euro. This was over €40 before christmas. Didn't get one as the young lad already has it, but I let him play it when I am not...;)

Keep the Dave Power references to PM's, but i don't want it on the board lads. Last thing the Irish Promotion needs is another fake poster/troll. Cheers

Doing a bit of an attic clearout tomorrow, will post some pics of what I have if I get a chance. Had over 600 but sold most of them on ebay a few years back. Kept all my ECW original ones and WCW ones though.

    Boxed classics mostly

You got to shop around. But It Now figures are usually more expensive. Just be patient and keep looking.

Here's a couple of pics of my ECW original figures in an ECW ring as promised. I remember going to a toy shop in New York when I was younger and my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw them! Bought them all too!

    s2xteh.jpg

There a few duplicates in there, I've 3 different New Jacks! Hard to believe someone like him even got a figure made :D

Cherry Cola any chance of a few close up shots of some old school figures?? Macho, Hogan etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,964 ✭✭✭Cherry_Cola

Unfortunately I got rid of the majority of my collection a few years ago, I had hundreds :( I kind of regret it a little now but I purposely held on to those ones.

I do have some WCW era Macho Man/Hogan ones though. I have some Hall/Nash/Hart ones too and will get some pics up tomorrow if people are interested.

I only collect DVDs these days and have a fairly substantial collection of those too!
