Hi only after buyin a tasty 04 320d with 77000 miles on the clock.:) Lovely car to drive but i know the turbos can be prone to failure at about 80000 miles so just wondering is there anyone with experience of these cars to tell me what preventative measures i can take to protect me turbo!? is was registered in april 04 so it may have been fitted with an upgraded turbo but im not sure?!..

Just make sure the breather filter on the turbo is changed with every 3rd oil change. I have an '03 E46 320d with 136k miles and still on its first turbo. With the correct maintenance, the turbo is not a problem

Make sure the breather filter is the newer Vortex type filter. Also I would do an oil service every 10k or so. The long service interval wont help the turbo. Give the EGR valve a clean as well. There is alot of info on the net about ways of trying to make the turbo last longer like not revving over 2000 revs before engine is up to full temp and letting the turbo cool down after a run before turning the engine off. Best of look with the car.

I think so and I've been meaning to get them blanked off since I got it 2.5 years ago!

All the 150bhp E46s do and early E90s too.

So I believe. I need to find an online guide for how to do it. I'm no mechanic but I can follow instructions :)
I fitted an aux input to my car using the guide below
