hope someone can help. Hdd went on my dell. I installed a new one and downloaded and installed win vista home premium, same as was originally installed. It would not recognise the key and i realise now it's because i used a standard windows cd and not the original dell oem install cd.
Is there any way around this, can i use any oem cd or does it have to be the one that came with it as i dont have it.

The recovery partition is gone too with the old hdd.

Sorry, you can't use an OEM license key with a retail version of Windows. Contact Dell for a Vista DVD.
