Cats allergy issues

We have a 14 yo cat who's in good health apart from what appears to be an allergy problem that she suffers from. Over recent years she tends to sneeze alot & also has sore, weeping eyes.
I've brought her to the vet a few times to try find a solution. The vet has given me a few different types of eyedrops to try but it's more of a relief than a cure for her. I've recently switched her food to better quality Royal Canin dry food in the hope that better nutrition might help but it hasn't.
Any ideas what might be causing these symptoms & what I can do to help her?

It's probably feline herpes virus. Once they get it it stays with them for life. A lot of cats have it and mostly it's fine but an drop up in a cat flu with stress, weather etc.
By adding Llysine to the cats food this will help boost the immune system. You can sprinkle it and use it for a couple of weeks and then maybe pull back to when the sneezing starts and use it again.
I've had one foster cat with it and although he sneezed regularly it once he got healthy and we used te Llysine the rest of the symptoms calmed down.
If a flu is likely best to get abs for the cat to help.

Have you tried an anti histamine? Not sure if you can give them to cats but I seem to recall reading somewhere that you can. Worth checking that with your vet. Are there any new plants in the house that could be causing it? One of mine is allergic to certain mites so I keep her sprayed with frontline which works well....although she hates it!!

+1 for herpes and the L-lysine sprinkled on the food. It stops the virus replicating and can have a good effect if used consistently.

Thanks for the advice folks, much appreciated! I'll try the L-lysine & hopefully that'll help!
