    Hey all,
Does anyone find that the sound on TG4 is lower compared to the other channels? Ordinary aerial TV reception.

The sheer crapness of TV3 dulls the senses so you think it sounds lower.

I notice TV3 and RTE both turn up the sound to maximum when they both put on their crappy adverts.

Never noticed TG4 volume. Some foreign language I don't understand anyway.

Just checked there TG4 is noticeably louder, and TV3 is a bit quieter than the rte's and bbc's

I've never even been able to tune in TG4, let alone hear it.

Different power levels for each channel from the transmitter, saorview will fix it!

That's teh advertisers. They claim that the peak power is within limits but what they do is fill in the specturm with a wall of sound, really irritating, it would drive you to pvr

same way chart music is a wall of sound

TV sound is FM not AM

actually TV picture is AM , so if different power levels were a problem then picture quality would suffer long before sound quality was affected

That's right, but sometimes the (older)TV's AVC controls reduce the volume on weaker signals.
