Wonder could someone help me figure some stuff out about my cross fader for my mixer. I have a vestax pcv180 mixer and I use it mostly for scratch mixing. The mixer or fader has no curve adjustment. my fader is now worn out and requires a replacement. The manual says I can use CF-PCV or CF-R to replace.

I am looking for some advice on what fader is best to buy so that I can adjust the curve or cut off point.

Penny & Giles are the big name in faders, not sure how you'd get an adjustable curve setting going if the mixer doesn't have a knob for it though...

If your electrically inclined, you could do it. The fader is just a variable resistor. Results may vary however but you could make a seriously custom fader if you had the time or the interest.

If you're mainly using your mixer for cutting you might as well get a pro xfade http://www.proxfade.co.uk/ or innofader http://www.innofader.com/index.php.. They fit most mixers and are built to last the wear and tear of scratching.
