    Hi folks,

I am CIMA qualified and looking for something to get the mind more active again. I am thinking of doing maybe a masters or a post grad course in something (probably accounting/finance related) and I'm looking if anyone else has done any post Accounting qualification studies?

An MBA would be the obvious choice. Especially, if you're an accoutant wanting to move into a more General Manager type role.

Ya that would be the obvious choice alright, i'm just wondering are there other options that people have done?

Would anyone see the benefits of CFA qualification if already chartered accountant

I've thought about CFA alright but not sure how much value it would add for me. It does seem to be getting more popular but not sure how much sought after it would be for the roles I am interested in.

I am CIMA qualified and had considered doing ACA in order to open the 'moving to practice' option door. Anyone got 2 accounting qualifications? Is there benefit aside from being able to move towards practice?

I don't have two but I don't see the point.

CIMA have a member in practice in scheme - not sure if it would cover you.

I am doing my intermediate excel and advanced excel courses through CPD with Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Are there any CIMA accountants out there who actually work in practice?

Another option I was considering was doing the QFA exams in order to maybe set up my own financial advisory. Anyone have any experience with this?
