in a way this is nothing to do with previous threads (Amazling in a way i sorted out things with the ex girlfriend of a few years ago :D)

IM off the drink for a while now, consulling is going well and i feel like tonight i want to have a alcoholic drink.

I feel like my head is all rite now.

I think its a bit unfair for people to judge me on something which happend to me 2 times out of say 20 nights out. Im not going to go back to way the i drank prevouisly.

Glad counselling is going well for you.

You know best where your issues lie, and if you feel like you can handle a drink well then good for you.

Don't feel like a failure if it doesn't work out well for you.

    What's your question PTH?

Also, I don't remember your last thread so have no clue how bad your drink problem was.

I have a question for you, if you go out and drink tonight, will you give yourself a number of drinks and will you be able to stick to that number?

If your counsellor recommends you stay off the drink, then Id stay off it if I were you....especially if you had any previous drink problems.

It takes more than a few weeks to sort out serious emotional issues and to learn healthy ways of thinking and living.

1 can is not worth risking your mental health on. You need continuing professional help.

    Hi PTH2009.

I haven't seen your previous threads, but I assume you had some sort of a problem with drinking too much and it caused you problems?

I think its a dangerous road OP. I have a family member who used to cause a lot of anguish when drinking. He managed to give it up, was on the dry for close to a year and everything was great.

Then Christmas came round and he came out with the "ah shur its Christmas, I can have a glass of wine with my dinner" That glass turned into a bottle, two bottles and then a slab of beer that same day, been drinking like a madman ever since

Now forgive me if you weren't this bad or even like this, but unless your Councillor has given the go ahead, I'd be wary of just "one or two cans"

Good luck and take care of yourself :)

Be careful. This is what I used to do and it always escalated, not immediately, but it always did.

What's the point in one can, ask yourself. I wish you well regardless, it just didn't work for me.

    Take care.

Don't you see the pattern here? Your relationship and counselling are going well because you've knocked the booze on the head. Going back to the way you were is not an option so I'd stay off the drink entirely if I were you. One can will only lead to more, it won't do you any good.
