Good performance but against a mediocre United side it has to be said. Fear factor is gone from Old Trafford, especially in Europe. I like Jones as a player, but it was shown tonight, anyone with quick feet will play around him.

The offside was debateable, and the free-kick wasn't dubious, it's perfectly well defined in the letter of the law. It's a stupid reason for a foul, I do think, but it is there.

from the replays it was definitely offside, i thought bilbao would have at least given the ball back to united from the free but then again spanish teams aren't renowned for their sportsmanship

I thought Bilbao played like a certain PL team in 99. Great technical ability allied to an even greater work ethic. They played some sublime football tonight which was good to watch but painful to watch at the same time. Good because it was great football, painful because it was being done to us!

TBH I can't see us going there and getting through. Even Barca had to fight to draw 2-2 there this season, and they're a little better than we are atm. :rolleyes:

But fair play to them (and Ajax), coming to OT and playing good attacking football. Maybe this Europa League isn't so bad after all. I've enjoyed that more than a ****load of CL games over the last few years.
