I'm upset at Veolia for employing monkeys to run luas.ie

I'm upset at RPA for having their own little comfort zone where they do better than Irish Rail, but don't do as well as they could.

    Please explain comments Victor??

I'm perfectly happy to answer questions, however, it is unconventional to drag up posts that are years old to ask off-topic questions.

    Sure.

The old luas.ie website was so bad that I was sending customer care several e-mails a month about errors, mostly about content. Sometimes it was fixed, sometimes it wasn't. I suspect it was that Veolia corporate was running the site, not Red Cow and the webmonkeys where ever they were weren't paying attention and / or weren't in the feedback loop. The new website is much better - sure the occasional glitch, but that happens - the big difference is that any problems that have arisen seem to be fixed promptly. If I'm correct, the current website was launched almost a year after that post.

The RPA claim to be better than Irish Rail and indeed are. However, there are a number of issues:
    * The late delivery of nearly all their major projects
    * The failure to deliver quite a few projects. While the NRA can be condemned for gross overspending, at least they delivered projects.
    * In saying that Luas has a surplus, are they accounting for their own costs involved in the running (as opposed to building) of the system?
    * In some particular instances, excessive deference to political (a wonky fare system) and property interests (e.g. the tunnel and unopened stops on the Cherrywood extension).
    * While they have performance targets for Luas, some of them aren't as useful as one might think, e.g. the headline tram km % doesn't show whether the trams were to schedule or not.

I've spilled my dinner on the floor. I'm upset. But I'm not just upset about my dinner.
This is novel. I was discussing that incident with someone today at about noon as an example of flipping the lid (or my dinner). I don't do it that often, but I was rather upset that day.

I loved the rant I just couldn't link the Luas.ie with the rant.

However the fact that I know the call centre staff might be somewhat insightful.

Many of the staff employed are interns from foreign lands and as ive stated here previously staff turnover is quite high. Given that these persons might have been new or not fully trained in inputting the information correctly might have been the problem.

Also the moving of the offices of the call centre staff several times since Luas began. They now have a permanent residence.

Not that im making excuse for them............just saying is all :p

Also dragging up old posts well ive just joined and i was reading through some posts without necessarily checking the dates......will be more attentive when posting. thanks

I have specific people assigned to me, so they are long term. :)
