I think ted spread is a standout here could win very easy
Gettin weight off the decent horses and giving weight to nothing that would worry you.
Needs a gd run to get into county hurdle too

Just had a look and Art Professor is a good bit overpriced at 25/1 with VcBet. he hasnt had a lot of racing this year made eyecatching progres last time over a long trip and his 2nd at cheltenham the run before is very decent.

V Williams well capable of getting one ready to ahave a go at this double.

    25/1 most places actually..

Not sure Ted Spread will be going in this race.. Being saved for the county hurdle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Only way I can see him getting into the County is if Brampour pulls out.

Yeah Ted Spread is not running in this. hinterland is going there instead. 10/1 currently (well he was last night can't check atm) that won't be around for long.

75k bonus if you win the Imperial and a race at the Festival, will definitely be running in the Imperial Cup

I wouldn't say definate as ground is not suiting on Saturday. Would not be surprised if he didn't run.

Yeah I think Ted Spread more likely to run in Martin Pipe hurdle than the County Hurdle.

Aw I'm thinking of the wrong horse. I am some mug

If Ted Spread was to win on Saturday, would his rating go up in time to get him into the County Hurdle?

Was this the info coming from Anthony Bromley at the preview night? I think that was the plan and Hinterland was going to run in Imperial on Saturday. Apparently Hinterland worked badly this morning so was pulled and Ted Spread been left in though not 100 percent guaranteed to run.

    He'd be carrying a penalty

I dont think he's going to get in the County though, hes in the mid 50's or that in the entries, max field of 40.

But if he wins he'd carry a penalty and move him up

Yeah that was it, he seemed pretty confident about it too. Didn't hear anything about hinterland today so presume it was as he said. Time will tell..

Brampour is top weight and also holds an entry in the Champion Hurdle.

Ted Spread has a better chance of winning the County than Brampour does carrying that weight.

The Champion looks a very small field, with a chance Brampour may pick up some place money there I reckon they will pull him from the County, getting Ted Spread in off bottom weight.

Then again you have to take a 7lb claim into account which they won't get in the Champion, this swings the County back in his favour.

Brampour is ment to go for champion from what I've heard earlier in season

I wasn't at it myself but a friend of mine was and said the same, that he said he was good value and was pretty confident about him, pity he not running now.

Master of Arts for David Pipe really interesting. Last seen for Pipe finishing a disappointing 11th in the 09 Triumph hurdle. Been running on the flat since then for Mark Johnson but now back in Pipes hands and also has entry for County Hurdle though like Ted Spread not guranteed to get in. Looks like he has been backed strongly for the Imperial Cup and given his history I can imagine Pipe is eyeing that 75k bonus again with this horse.

It was good nihgt I must admit.. Serious amount of people there. Mullins was the only one who thought Long rn was worth a punt. Segal said he wouldn't touch him and Paudi from Boyles said he was so confident he wouldn't win that he offered everyone 9/4 that was there..

He also offered 6/4 about Sizing Europe if bet over €100 but tried to do the bet at the break but were told 6/4 no longer available....

Exactly, thats why I said I fully expect him to run in the Imperial, he needs to in order to guarantee a run in the County.

Brampour pulling out changes nothing just pushes everything up in the weights, Ted Spread would still need another 15 or so to pull out off his current mark.

Bet 365 are 16/1 Ted Spread to do the Imperial/ County double

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭Wishful Thinking

I might be completely off my rocker but Torpichen looks great value at 40/1 ew 5 places with Powers & Bet365

He's also 100 on Betfair & that's just too big

Most might remember him from running this side of the water

He has been campaigned over chases last two seasons & this year Alan King has reverted him back to hurdles, he's ran so so on softer ground but he's a spring horse & I suspect Sandown will be quicker than the good to soft advertised

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 713 ✭✭✭newuser89

    Agree with you
He wasnt far behind celestial halo in handicap a couple of starts ago
If he's at his best I'd say he would place as I don't rate much in the field

What happened ted spread, the ground?

A big drifter in the betting for the county hurdle after that
