Car Swop Sites

Hi All,

I got a notion that someone might be interested in swopping cars a straight change.

The reason for this is my car is simply costing me too much money for my current earnings. Are there any sites etc... in Ireland that cater to this?

Car is:

Skoda Octavia VRS 1.8T
2001
5 Stock Alloys
Around 120k on the clock,
Timing Belt done at 110k
Part Leather Interior

What it be looking for is maybe a diesel instead of a similar year / quality.

Have you put an add up on donedeal saying you are interested in swaps/exchange?

Swapping cars is one of those ideas that sounds great but will almost never work. Think how hard it is to find the car you want, think how hard it is to find a buyer for your car, and then multiply one by the other.

I didnt even think of donedeal.

@Anan1 Ya I hear ya but i think its worth the try and realistically selling my car and buying another would be just as hard.

Your way is far harder, because you're trying to do the two deals with the same person! That said, it doesn't hurt to try - just make it clear that you'll accept cash too.

I managed a 3 way swap last year

I wanted one car, another seller wanted my car and the other guy wanted the other fella's car . I got cash aswell which always helps

Hi fionny,car swops haven"t really took off here,but the way things are going it just might,i know its big in the UK,have heard of good swops and bad ones so be careful if you go down this route you could end up with someones nightmare,so if do try swoping motors do your homework first on the car,your not alone on trying to down size engines alot of others are trying the same to save a few euros,so good luck on what you decide.:)
