I dont see a thread up for this (yet), so here goes.

After an interesting TTT yesterday (wow, what a win by GreenEdge, 17 seconds faster than Radioshack and Garmin Barracuda. Defending champ Evans nearly a minute down already) todays stage 2 winner looks like he will probably come from a sprint-fest.

Stage 2 Profile San Vincenzo to Indicatore.
    2012_tirreno_adriatico_stage2_profile.jpg

On Eurosport 2 live from 2pm. (clashes with Paris-Nice on Eurosport1 - what a nice dilemma to have :D, for a change.). Also, streaming online if you search.

    Stage finale:

Reaching Indicatore, there begins the 33.5 kilometer long circuit to be repeated twice. It is a rather indented circuit featuring in its final part the Ponticino spurt (with gradient peaks up to 12% ). The stage comes to an end with an almost 7 kilometers long, wide and straight road, mainly in slight descent. Worth to be noted at 20 km from the finish line, is the presence of narrowed roadways in Ponte a Buriano. Final 450 meters long straight road beginning from the last semi-curve, on asphalted ground. Road width is 7 meters.

Saturdays stage 4 into Chieti and Sundays (5th) into Prati de Tivo are definitely ones to watch, for the climbers anyway!

Mod Edit - WARNING use spoiler tags for same day race information in this general race thread

Team Sky again, Cav for the simple sprints, Bosen-Hagan for the tougher ones, can't go wrong!

Some lovely stages in this race. Really nice mountain stages in recent days and great to see the likes of Nibali, Sagan and Kreuziger doing well.

Stand out for me has been Chris Horner (despite me normally detesting anything vaguely related to Armstrong). I really like his style - not bad for an oul fella - and he seems to be able to hold his own relatively easily on the climbs against the whippets, or even if he is suffering, he does it with a smile ! He's playing a conservative game and awaiting the time trial to see if he can win it then, but overall he is going well - still all to play for between at least three contenders.
