    Hi,

Very basic question but been a long time since i travelled ryanair,

Basically, flying out from dublin at 8:05 am (London Luton flight)

I only have hand luggage, no bags to check in so will it be time enough to be at the boarding desk at half 7 or so or would i need to be there a bit earlier?

    Thanks in advance:)

30 mins before is you're cut off point, so cutting it a bit fine, imo. If you get there at 7.36, expect problems.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Cool 7:35 it is!

Ah no thanks for that info, I wasn't actually sure what the cut off point was, half an hour is v reasonable i must say, cheers dude

:/ Generally the gates CLOSES ~30mins before you're due to take off (this should be on your ticket). And you obviously you still have to go through security and there could be a bit of a walk to the gate. I'd be aiming to be at the airport at 7am at the latest and at the actual gate ~10mins before it's due to close to be safe.

the problems with flying with ryanair from dublin is
    1. queue going through security in terminal 1 (give yourself at least 30 mins in the morning)
    2. the walk from security to the ryanair gates which is at least 10-15mins

The main problem is how unpredictable the queue at security can be. Sometimes you breeze through in 5 minutes, but as rossie1977 said it's not unusual for it take up to 30mins, especially early in the morning. You'd be much better off getting there early and having a bit of time to kill if things go smoothly at security rather than having your name called repeatedly on the intercom and having to dash a long distance to the gate!!

I flew to London Luton recently from Dublin and it took about 15-20mins to get to the gate from The Loop area, my boyfriend was with me and we breezed through security.

However early in the morning it will be busier so as another poster said, I'd get to the airport for 7am at the latest and then having some time to kill.

And if you are flying back from Luton to Dublin and are getting an early morning flight, allow plenty of time, I once flew on an early morning flight from Luton to Dublin and it took me around 40mins to get through security alone, it was crazy busy, and that was a midweek flight, presumably the weekends would be busier.

I fly with Ryanair 10-15 times a year approx. Not once have i seen the gate being closed 30 mins before the departure time. Often i have arrived at the airport (various ones) 30-35 mins beforehand and arrived at the gate 15 mins before "departure time" only to find the queue still hasnt moved.

Ryanair flights never take off at the time stated on your boarding pass.
