Probably not, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks it is

    Good.

If anyone deserves to be trolled, its the Vatican

They should have drawn a picture of a big mickey and a big pair of hairy balls with jip coming out of it.

No harm, they could do with bopping off a few more religions while there at it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,903 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

I was going to suggest they replace the homepage with child pornography but..........

Hacking is actually a crime. Whether one likes it or not

Or uploaded naked women onto it....that would have freaked them out.

Or a pic of Mohammed...that really would have got things going.

I'm quite surprised. The catholic church can't drag themselves into the 21st century when it comes to abortion, contraceptives and homosexuality but they have a website.

    I didn't say it wasn't.

Anonymous haven't hacked the Vatican website btw.

They should go back to hacking Irish government's websites and keeping SeanSherlock.ie offline

and they won't be pleased with having those pictures on the homepage -- they like to keep them in the appropriate section on the website.

The sooner they extradite the lot of them off to the land of the orange jump suits the better.

I think extraditing priests might be seen as a step to far. Not that I'd be against it tbh.

I can't help but find myself agreeing with what they do...they only seem to target those who are doing questionable things.

I think trolling the Catholic Church is a bad thing to do...

...I much prefer asking Catholics sincere, honest questions, then watching them throwing their toys out of the pram.

What a wonderfully insightful and coherant post, adding as it does to the general body of knowledge and cut and thrust of debate!

Why would you think they would do that? Isnt a persons religion and belief their own business and nothing to do with anyone else?

Not hacked, just another DDOS attack.
TANGO DOWN - Vatican Website - http://www.vatican.va/ - (via Anonymous Italia) #ANONYMOUS Why? For the pure, simple lulz, no other reason.

Ohai Pope. There were also all those sex abuse scandals and the Vatican's archaic stance on birth control. #JustSayin

    Cocky ain't they?

Its the online equivelant of breaking into your home and thrashing the place and then crapping on the carpet before leaving!

Why would they get that? It's a bunch of Italians knocking a Vatican site offline for a while, nothing to do with the Americans, and even if it was, it wouldn't merit the same punishment Lulzsec members are facing because it's not remotely the same thing.

Do you honestly believe 10 years in a foreign prison is a correct punishment for the internet equivalent of tagging a poster with washable paint?

Damn, tyre down... I should have thought of that. It's not at all what you think it is lividduck, it's genuinely not hacking, they don't actually get into the site, they don't change anything on it.

It would have been much funnier if they did break in and crap on the carpet. That carpet really tied the room together.

Eh no, it's not. All it is, is spamming the shit out of it with hits, so the site crashes. They dont go in to it, or change anything on it...if you had any clue about what hacking is, then you would know that this is not hacking.

First they came for the communists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Try reading the indictment and you will find out, they hacked US companys, stole customer and staff details from them, and also hacked US based servers (including during their attempt to subvert the democratic election and political process in Ireland).

Thankfully I dont need a couple of cyber criminals who steal peoples personal details from the web, attack governmental, commercial and political websites, to speak for me.

They may not be able to be extradited and surely they'll be tried and sentenced in their own countries.

Oddly enough that same quote had just come into my head reading this thread. It's all very funny watching a group you don't admire being attacked, not so much so if a worthy (in your opinion) organisation gets the same treatment.
