Hey everyone. For the last number of months I have been adament on going back to London and working for the same construction company as I did last summer. However, recently I've been having second thoughts about London cause it will be hectic and expensive over there with the Olympics and I want to try somewhere new. The whole point of going somewhere is to save money to go to Australia, where I my sister, a number of uncles and cousin live. I was contemplating Holland because it has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU, Dubai because of all the teaching jobs and now Canada seen as there crying out for workers. I would have enough money to go to these places but I wonder do they require you in Canada to have a minimum amount in your bank like Australia and the 3000 or so that they require. Would the work in these places allow you to save a few grand in 4 or 5 months? :/
I should have went to one of those working abroad expos :(
    Please help!

I'm Literally in the same boat. I'm just back from the States. I'm doing a ton of Research on where to go to next. The u.s. is great you can talk your way into most lines of work without a degree. To stay there's the problem. It's either you get married to a citizen or win a greencard. Sponcership is not even worth looking into unless your with some big multi international company.

I hear London will have a lot of Work in construction to offer in the next coming months if you go back soon and save up more money if possible. I know living Expenses are high there.

The Netherlands is suppose to be doing well, as well as Denmark and Sweden too. It's all up for debate. Canada's definitely easier to get into but its all mining work Most my friends otherwise work small jobs you can get in Ireland.

There seems to be too much Irish in Australia for my liking. Although I have friends who are trained carpenters making 100k of there though! :O I'm told the Oz's aren't too fond of us. That's a big turn off for me too.

The World is our oyster for Irish indeed. But My Brain is wreaked. Any Advice anyone?

I worked in Canada last year. You need a visa to work there and a few thousand in your bank account on entering the country. Work in Canada isn't as plentiful as the news would have you believe. A lot of people I knew in Canada took a while to get work. Canada is also seriously expensive. If the whole point is to save money for Australia then don't go to Canada. If you are sure of work with the same company you worked with last year you should probably go to London. Stick with the devil you know for a few months and you'll get to the somewhere new in Australia.
