Sky HD Box giving trouble

I occassionally have issues with Sky HD Box. This has only started to happen recently and it is my multiroom box in the bedroom. It is very slow to change channel ie when I press the channel numbers on the remote it takes 2 or 3 seconds for the channel to come up. Also sometimes when I go to watch a recorded show it doesn't work and will just show a blue screen. It's a Samsung box.
Any ideas? Would a re-boot or upgrade help or is the box on the way out?
    Thanks

Reboot the box, hold back up on the box, plug box out & in again. You should get a message on screen to tell you it's upgrading the system software-this takes about 10-15 mins.

I have the same problem as the OP but now my box has started to fail all my sky+ recording as a technical fault.

I don't have my boxes (i have multiroom aswell) connected to a working phoneline for over a year now so would i still be ok to do the reboot and upgrade

    Cheers
