Ulster bank today refused to give a stocking loan because the bereau showed up i missed a payment in another bank. I have been getting this stocking loan this last few years with them and always paid it back on time. I have a good record with Ulster bank as they said themselves but they could do nothing. They should be ashamed of themselves considering all the millions in bailouts they got. I dont know how small business like me can carry on when this is the treatment we get.

ulster bank did not get a bail out so a waist of time getting on to the c r a .but also can you imagine the uproar on joe duffy if it was heard that farmers that have missed repayments were still been given out more money, when will the banks ever learn, before you get on to me i was refused a stocking loan as well and have never missed a repayment and i am with nib.

Are they part of royal bank of Scotland (RBS)? If they are I think they got a uk bailout?

OP first you have to make a complaint to the bank before going to credit review agency. About 2/3 of the complaints to c.r.a. are successful.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

What sort of security do they look for when getting a stocking loan ? Is it stock you already own ,land or savings . Does the loan only cover stock or do people use it to pay for meal ,vets , fertilizer and other costs until they are sold .
Sorry for all the questions , but we have room and silage enough to carry another twenty or thirty cattle each year . Im trying to build up numbers without borrowing but maybe a stocking loan for a year or two would enanble me add another few cows to my own herd when all is paid for .
Is that just a mad thought or what do ye think

Legs I'm not 100% sure either. The op may not be able to go to cra on this one because as you say it may have to be an irish bailout.

OP the number for credit review office is 1850211789, they're fairly busy:D:D:D so if you don't get through the first time try again later. http://www.creditreview.ie/

I recently had a small overdraft request turned down by my bank it was declined and no reason was given and I received nothing in writing even though I made a formal signed application.
I asked the bank if there was a formal appeals process and I got a kind of a vague "the manager will ring you" response.
He did ring full of sympathy the usual "all these decisions are made centrally" stuff and promises of "we'll have to do something for you" but no response since.
I'm going to get back to them and look for some documentation detailing the refusal and go to the Credit Review Office.

UB would not be know as a farmers bank. I would suggest that you approach BOI, AIB or ACC and see how you get on. Seems starnge to me but some times its easier to get money off another bank than your existing one.

Also you should take a look at your overall application. Have you got annual accounts and were these figures good enough for the bank? Has your current account been pver drawn for the whole year? are you perhaps over borrowed as it is?

QUICK REPLY, ULSTER BANK ARE NOT COVERED BY THE CREDIT REVIEW AGENCY... you can contact the internal review committee in the bank to see if you where wrongly treated... hth
