Has anyone a recommendation for someone to apply protective plastic to new windows to protect during construction work? Window suppliers don't do it.

    Thanks,

    Bb

There is a "paint-on" laytex type product that you can simply peel off afterward, I don't know the name of it but a little Googleing might find it.

is your glass not allready protected wtih plastic as well as the frames? or are they coming all unprotected..thats unusual. youll get pallet wrap in any decent hardware id say, its surprisingly expensive enough. Not sure how u can wrap windows taht are in place though.

You can get plastic window film in most good paint shops.I use alot of it but i couldnt be sure on price but its 30 - 40 euro roughly. One roll would be enough

    Thanks all,

A few avenues to pursue there.
I'll have to get back onto my suppliers, I'm almost positive I've seen their windows on a nearby new build with the blue plastic protective layer on them.

ive mostly seen the painters doing this work, taping and plastic sealing the windows b4 plastering starts inside and out.

Do NOT put masking tape on windows unless you intend taking it off the same day

Why do you want to go to the expense of putting a coating on the window ?

brdboard, you sure there not protecting them? When they arrive on site during transport theyll need to be protected. The frames usually come from the supplier with plastic on them. The class then with a blue film. I have yet to see any supplier not do this. Out of a list of say 6 builds i was visting and 6 differnt suppliers.
