Saab 9-3 'Crankshaft Position Sensor'?

    Hi,

I recently bought a new model 2003 Saab 9-3. I've noticed that it idles rough and is slow to take off from 1st and 2nd gear. I've had the spark plugs, oil and all break pads and discs changed. But the problem is still there and it's not the clutch.

I had a look on some Saab enthusiasts sites and it would seem its a common symptom of a vacuum leak. Apparently there's this hose near the dipstick that's notorious for breaking.

So I had a look on mine and sure enough that same hose on mine is torn.

Now also on these Saab sites people recommend changing the 'crankshaft position sensor'. This is a sensor near the flywheel that tells the cars computer when to rev. If this is faulty I would also have the same problems as described above. So as the part only costs approx $20 its recommended I have it changed at the same time.

Ok that sounds easy but this 'crankshaft position sensor' only seems to be available on American websites and they don't seem to post to Ireland.

What I'm wondering is do we call this thing a different name here in Europe or do we even have these things in Europe?

It seems to be a standard Opel/Saab GM part.

    Here's a pic...

Also how much would a garage charge me to replace all the hoses?
