    I wanted to put top dressing on a tree but there is moss around it. I did not want to dig If dig deep might hit roots of tree

    So scraped off moss with hoe to reveal mud. Put the compost and some fertiliser on the mud and tried to work it in

    Is that OK.?

    it should be fine. moss wont do the tree any harm as far as i know.

    i dont think it will moss doesnt need many nutrients to grow
