    Hi All,
We currently have a well with an over ground water pump in a pump house about 6-7 metres from the top of the well. The pressure vessel is leaking and we need to replace it.
    I think I have 2 options:
Replace the existing tank (motor/pump seems to be fine.)
    or
Install a submersable pump and replace th existing pump/vessel.
Is there a third or forth option?
If I replace with the submersible is there anything needed above ground for it to work?
Thanks for the help and please feel free to let me know if there are better options.
Also where would be a good place to get one and what sort of price would I be looking at?
    Louth/Meath area
    Thanks for the help

You simply change the pressure vessel, size should be on it.

Any good plumbers merchant will have them, around €50 would be middle of the road dependent on size.

    is there much involved?
Remove the old and fit the with the new, electric off and all that.
Is there any setup once the new vessel is fitted?

Normally very straight forward, post a picture of your pump/vessel and lets take a look.

Once the electric is off release the water pressure by running a tap, replace vessel, power on, and you're done.
Make sure you get the right vessel.

If your pump is working there is no point changing it, if you fit a new tank and your pump fails in the future you can then change the pump for either an above ground or submersible one.

You want to be fitting a 60l tank, make sure it is for drinking(potable) water not heating(there is different rubber in them) You are probably looking around €150 for one.

make sure you check the air pressure in the tank BEFORE you connect it, it should be around 2bar
