Interesting idea, let us know how it goes :)

Done rugby coaching cert and some coaching in the past when I was in the UK, would like to get back into something like that one day.

Haven't done it but I imagine its very hands on/practical. Contact the relevant Regional Dev Officer.

Is this the first level? I have done a few of these courses. Mainly common sense but you always get a few bits of really usefull stuff and depending on the level a book or something hardcopy to take away. Without sounding corny you meet fellow athletics people and there just isn't enough of us out. Highly recommended, do as many as you can.

Oh and in response to your question it's a mix of practical and theory.

Yeah, I think it's one of the first level ones. My three kids are in the local club so I decided that I would get involved.

I did the first level a year and a half ago.
As everyone else has said it is fairly basic stuff but handy to do as it will remind you of a lot of stuff you already know. It's a fair amount of practical and some theory. I'm sure what you take away from the course will very much depend on who is teaching it.

If you're looking for more inspiration, check out http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=76982776

And the next time your kids aren't listening to you, you can remind them that you are a qualified professional:)

Your club should subsidise your fee as well. Enjoy!

Substitute the word 'Horny' for 'Corny' and that sentence has a whole new meaning
