Seriously stacked Raw tonight with HHH/HBK, Rock/cena and punk/jericho. There we have our opening, on the hour and closing segments anyway!

I'm really looking forward to Punk and Jericho continuing their feud, last week was very entertaining, and I cant see the standard dropping from these two.

It'll be interesting to see the feelings between Michaels and HHH because they didnt exactly finish on good terms the last time. I wonder will that be forgotten and they go back to the laughing and joking best friends shtick. But they do seem to be building tension between them, it was Takers jab about hbk being better that forced HHH to change his mind, so hopefully they build some uncertainty tonight. Meltzer said on the LAW this week that Shawn will be involved in the match, and in all likelihood, the finish. So I imagine they are going for a "who does he want to win" angle.

As far as Rock Cena goes, I really hope Rock comes out swinging this week. He hasnt been keeping up with Cena at all. Last week, he didn't seem himself at all, there was none of the brash, fast talking cockiness that people loved about him. It was all about innovation and reinventing and trending, sounded more like a marketing presentation than a promo from the most electrifying man in AAAALLL of entertainment. There was no "finally..." there was no "millions". These are important to the Rocks character, so hopefully he gets back to what made him popular in the first place and is allowed to let rip tonight!

I reckon I'll be staying up for this one, seems like an episode thats worth watching live.

Hell no. I'd be surprised if Cena is even put in that many matches between now and then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,054 ✭✭✭D.Q

seriously doubt it. I can see him MAYBE being put in a tag match or something, but not get getting to fight for whatever reason. Definitely feel him and Cena shouldn't touch each other til mania.

I was talking to my brother about this the other day, only it was about the Undertaker. I feel they should have some sort of match. How can WWE expect someone like 'Taker to go a whole year without a match and still have his timing down.

I understand the possiblities of getting injured are there. Even on house shows, they could work short matches

his 20+ year career would help, hes done it enough times not to worry at this stage. He also has a ring in his gaff.

Teddy Long is in charge of RAW tonight so expect Triple H and John Cena vs Undertaker and The Rock in a tag team main event, playa.

Bit optimistic there Beefy it'll probably be something underwhelming like Punk & Cena vs Swagger & Ziggler. Didn't he book Khali vs Otunga, a match destined to lose a lot of viewers. I'd like to see Rock heel it up a bit, I loved the heel Rock that Wrestled Hogan II/Goldberg. He acted all hollywood, him spitting in Hogans face was great too.

Should be some good verbals this week. I'm gonna be hoping to high heaven that Rock abandons all this twitter plugging and gets back to be the arrogant as*hole that made everyone love him in the first place. Really didn't enjoy his promo last week.
Probably very unlikely though if the reports that WWE are trying to split the crowd 50/50 between him and Cena. And to be fair, Cena was brilliant.

Also very interested to see the HBK bit as I remember Cole plugging some interview he did for WWE.com where he apparently went bananas over comparisons between himself and HHH, so should be some development there. Hopefully he doesn't get added as a guest referee though.

Punk and Jericho strangely will probably be the most straightforward feud build of the night. Can't see any big twists or bombshells being knocked out but should still be good fun if last week is anything to go on.

Rocky better have something of substance to say this week besides getting his terrible juvenile phrases trending on Twitter.

Punk and Jericho need to step things up a gear or two, still doesn't really feel like a buildup to a Wrestlemania match.Same for Sheamo and Bryan.

Looking forward to another HBK/Triple H confrontation, last one was excellent.

He had plenty of substance to say last week and addressed all (both?) of Cena's points fully.

The trouble is that the message got lost in the playing to the crowd and all the talk of Chinese food.

    EDIT 1,000th post. Yay.

Yeah, the ''you do for the guys in the back, I do it for the people'' and the ''I didn't need guys to fight for me'' were decent points but as said already, it was lost in Twitter nonsense and Cena's bitchslap about the notes on Rocks arm.

    which was a shíte point.

Rock beat Cena last week as far as I'm concerned, even though Cena was very good.

Rock said he's fighting for the people, not the wrestlers in the back, plus he explained that he never meant he'd be there every week.

the first thing Cena does when he comes out - he takes another dig at Rock not being there every week (a point that Rock dismissed perfectly), basically calls him a diva (fair point perhaps, and one they should maybe focus on now), made a shíte point about wrist notes that got far too many people in a tizzy, and then said he'd beat the hell out of Rock, he then made a "trending" jibe as he left, which was ok i guess.

Cena said nothing new, and nothing that should really land a shot. the difference was Rock went on far too long, and spent far too much time talking about Twitter. he also didn't do most of his cocky schtick. Cena was a minute or 2, made his points and went. he was concise, and straight to the point, which was effective. as others have said, Rock's valid points got lost in the waffle.

it's 1-1 as far as the promos go so far IMO though, if you look at the actual disagreement. Cena is basically whining about Rock "leaving them high and dry" for another career that Rock is perfectly entitled to go for after dedicating a decade of his life to the business.

but don't expect too much from Rock tonight. i'd be shocked if they allow Rock to really tear Cena apart. as has been said, Cena is being scripted to be sympathised with in the long run. Rock is being scripted as to having no real comeback that lands when they're face-to-face, and if he does, Cena retorts quickly so the punch doesn't land.

Rock is jobbing to Cena on the mic, has done most of the way, is being asked to, and is doing it for the sake of the business in the long run. Cena is winning this feud IMO, and Rock is doing all he can to get the guy over for the good of the future of the company.

Sheamus & Bryan better get starting soon even for a average event their build has been drab so far. Punk & Jericho need to stay as strong as they were last week every week but at the same time I just don't see Jericho as a threat to Punk's title, I think there is more of a chance of HHH beating Taker than there is of Jericho beating Punk. HHH and Taker's build has been excellent so far. Taker said HBK is better than HHH but on the mic HHH is much better which has kept this feud ticking nicely.

And/Or the much more likely tag-team match of Sheamus & CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan & Chris Jericho - that could be an excellent match.

Or, for a bit of intrigue, champions Punk/Bryan vs challengers Sheamus/Jericho.

Oh Teddy, so many head melting options playa!

Really hope not. Rock and Cena shouldn't be involved in any match prior to Mania imo.

With all the Promos tonite Teddy Long may have to book a Tag Team promo, how that'd work I don't know. Hope they start sorting out matches for Del Rio and Christian.

I don't know what it is, I just don't like the Rock anymore. He used to be my favourite wrestler as a child but the more I listen to him now I just see him making stupid catchphrases without a lot of substance behind them and the points he does make get entrenched in the catchphrase rotisserie. Watching the old videos there was something behind all the promos, now it's just like he's phoning them in and is more interested in receiving praise than making good promos.

Caved and signed up to twitter purely for WWE reasons, its such a pain in the ass how much they go on about it all the time.

Wish they'd lay off pushing twitter and push Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks instead
