The ante post bet can't be cancelled as the bookie is offering odds that are likely to change.

For example,in horse racing, the ground changes, other horses in the race withdraw, stable hits a great run of wins, your selection has another pre race where it runs a blinder and it's odds on your race are immediately reduced.

That's the concept of the ante post bet.

So say something happened that would make you want to cancel the bet, say, the going changes to the disadvantage of your horse. It would be unfair to the layer/bookie for you to say 'I want to cancel the bet' .

You may have taken odds of 16's and the price goes out to 33's. That's why you have to stick with your ante post bet.

The ante post aspect of the bet was factored into the price you got at the time.

However , had you placed the bet and not taken the odds, any reasonable bookie should cancel the bet if requested.

Good luck with your future selections.

Never heard of anywhere that allows you to cancel it.

    Could be wrong though.
