Anyone have any recommendations for a decent but cheap carry-on wheelie for Ryanair and the like? Preferably a Dublin store but if there's a competitive online price (though given P&P charges I would doubt it) please include that.

I bought one of their bags last year and have had no problems -though it wasn't the wheeled version (ordered it from amazon).

Ikea sell these for Peanuts and also Lidl or Aldi sell these from time to time too.

Dunnes Stores sell decent sized ones with telescopic handle and wheelie base (can be brought on a plane as hand luggage) for about 25 euro.

I have the Dunnes one,and its taking a beating and a half in the last few years.Never had any problems with it,and plenty of space in it.
