Trying to find a car for myself, have 2 small kids so needs to be big enough for them and like to do a bit of fishing so have a big boot.
I know its not a lot but searching donedeal and adverts and it just seems people don't bother looking after there cars or advertise them covered in dirt and not bother washing them for photo.
Max 1.6 petrol or 1.9 diesel.

Pug 406 hdi has a pretty good rep. That or maybe a focus in 1.6 guise.. (have two in my family, both trouble free). Both should be easily got for your budget .

I would buy something like this.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3062425

I had the td version and it was a lovely car.

Stick a set of drop links into it every year and keep it serviced.
I traded my 406 in with 160k miles 4 years ago and i still see it around.
My last car (citroen c5) had that engine and it was still running perfectly at 180k miles

Best of luck with the search.
