You got that right, among the permissions they require is -

"Storage - Modify/Delete USB Storage contents"

"Your Location - Fine (GPS) Location"

"Services that cost you money - Directly call phone numbers"

"Phone Calls - Read phone state and identify"

Why do they want to read my phone state? Why do they want to modify/delete some contents of my USB storage? Why do they need my location? - I can decide my own location for mt local McDonalds thanks,

I'm guessing they read the phone state for non impact on GSM calls, if they detect a call they may be stopping something in the app.

For Storage its likely to be for more efficient use of images/data, caching etc...

As for location if you dont like it you can always turn off your location in your settings so even with these permissions they don't get your location, which is only being used to show you nearby locations.

This allow any incoming phone calls to identify a call coming in, pause any programs running and appear on-screen. Totally non sinister.

Its standard for almost all Android programs bar ones that run in the background.

Dont worry I'd be the first to wear the tin-foil hats if there was anything dodgy.

Edit: Mind you after reading this, a post from an mostly unknown board member defending a McDonalds piece of software, it really just sets off more Tin Foil alarms than anything.

Ah well in for a penny in for a pound, Mick and Mac: Global Gladiators is an overlooked McDonalds Mega Drive classic.

Ok it didn't work after reinstalling because you have to register your details for the vouchers...so I don't see any recurrent free voucher...

Was in there tonight..sat down to eat me chips...saw a big sign on window saying "FREE BIG MAC" when you get the app, downloaded it for the craic..just showed them the app, boom. handed me a big mac. no numbers taken or anything. I'm not sure how long this is going to last..but..it's unreal!
