Investing- Ulster Bank?

    I have a lump sum to invest. Ulster Bamk are giving 4% fixed rate/year. This is the best rate out their. Are they safe or are really short of cash and trying to get money in. I remember Anglo offering 8% at one stage!

    There is a bank doing 4.1% for the same term.

    You would get better if you locked away for longer.

    If it's fixed term deposits you're interested in, have a look at KBC Bank's 14 month term deposit offering 4.29% A.E.R.
    I think you can withdraw up to 25% before end of 14 month term without penalty.
    Good bank.

    ptsb have a 26 month a/c (minimum €10k) @ 9.5% (4.47 CAR) seems to be the highest out there today...

    I'd say the CAR & AER are directly comparable.
