Anyone interested in a thread for airing discreet factory-made and improvised self-defence weapons?

I have one of these. Very sweet if you have the moves. http://www.unbreakable-umbrella.com/ Particularly if a (trained or untrained) dumbass attempts to parry or block. Once again, the thinking brain is the ultimate weapon.

I also carry a crenellated torch at other times as I've (hopefully) hardwired myself to only hammerfist now; I RARELY punch, only to jab. Too risky to the hands in a real fight. I learned the hard way a few years ago when I took a phone fitting off a wall with my fists and couldn't use either hand properly for a fortnight (someone wished to call the cops as they were losing what they should not have started. Yes, I had a few tense minutes stand-off with the Gardai after but I was found to have been protecting someone and parted civilly). Although if you are used to a fist-load, then the torch is a great option, with multiple strike surfaces. http://www.amazon.com/SureFire-E2D-Defender-Dual-Output-Lumens/dp/B001EJI4B8/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1330831019&sr=1-1

Neither is cheap, but a lot cheaper than a hokum 2-day self-defence course. (I'd rather weekly classes where I could bring my practice back to class). Both items are useless without mentality.

Anyone else have any interesting legal and deceptive weapons to share? It would be nice to expand this topic if permitted by mods rather than have someone tell me that another episode in my life (this one domestic) did not happen.

I particularly like my umbrella. Unless a fully trained MMA was aware of it, they would be blocking a steel pipe, unbeknownst to themselves; a fight ender.

Incidentally, mentality and NLP techniques were mocked earlier today (Correction: I was, against forum rules) in another thread. How small-minded. I would urge others to dig further for the psychological truths of combat or any interactions. As Bruce Lee did when laid up. He then changed tack in so many ways regarding confrontation. Check post #1 of http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=52984995, reviewing Lee Morrison's Street-Safe:-

"Having all the best techniques in the world won’t help you unless you are prepared to use them and follow through, and Lee places particular importance on developing ones "mindset" (or vehemence); without it, no game plan will be successful. Described in the book are several ways to develop this vital skill - from Vehemence drills to NLP visualization, as well as various other methods of "accessing state". "

I practice Silva Mind Control dynamic meditation and have done for years now. Your sub-conscious does not differentiate mind-practice from reality. Once you've got it kinaesthetically, you can practice again and again. Basic combos and use of preferred weapon. All quality sportspeople now know that mental game is 50%. It seems lacking among some MMAs here in an earlier thread.
