Anyone know if there is a bus from town to farran woods? Or is there any other nice places to go for a pleasant picnic?

There is a phone number and an email address for Farran Wood on the Discover Ireland website so maybe contact them about buses.

Other places I can think of:

Crosshaven - I think there are some tables down by the slip. Lots of boats and other water activity to watch going by while having your picnic. Tables in the village centre too.

Currabinny Woods in Carrigaline. Lovely area for walking with nice views of Cork Harbour. Some info on the Carrig site.

Up around James Fort in Kinsale (nice walk). Also, where the chip van parks near the big bridge, there is a nice green area looking on the river that is fabulous on a sunny day.

If you are in the city, Fitzgerald's Park would be a nice spot.

Either way, its a lovely day for a picnic!
