Remember the 100 quid vouchers from Fnac.fr a few months ago!

Well if you dont heres what happened - a bunch of us ordered a HP Touchpad. Fnac.fr completed orders and took our money.

Then they came back to us advising opps they didnt actually have any in stock at all. So they refunded everyone and gave €100 vouchers towards a select range of other tablets.

So I went for an Archos 10" internet tab. Had it a couple weeks and the power pin (the pin in the hole u plug the charger into) came out with the charger.

I have mailed fnac with the help of google translate and they just came back after over a week saying I can either drop into any of their stores or call their tech support department to "help diagnose" the problem!

Eh I dont live in France and dont speak French so neither of these are an option for me.

Mailed them back with this info and they have not replied.
Cannot contact Archos directly as they only deal with customers in North America!

Any ideas how I can go about getting a repair or refund or replacement?

No, that's not right. Archos are a french company, their products are available in stores over here, they very much deal with european customers.

This is a link to their website, country set as Ireland:

Well this issue is still ongoing unfortunately. I have contact Archos and as I said earlier - they do not want to know. Advised me to contact the store I purchased it in.

Contacted credit card company at this stage to see if I could get some kind of charge back but that is not an option/no covered etc

Have had to buy a new tablet in the mean time as this was an Xmas present so had to replace that - it is May now after all!

Anyone ever had any dealings with fnac.fr or know a complaints email add etc?

Fnac is a GIGANTIC chain... Like virgin megastore / HMV but much much bigger. All over France.

Never had a problem with them.

Why drag up this old thread again?
