Hey guys, having just got a classic car for the first time, I'm keen to go to a few shows and events this year - and maybe even have my car on show if I can. I've been to a few many years ago like the Terenure Classic Car show etc - but I know there are loads more. What other ones are popular and worth checking out?

Don't really know any as I'm in a similar boat to you, but think this is a brilliant idea for a thread where people can post info about upcoming shows.

    hope it sticks!!!!

The mag's website does not seem to take subscriptions - any clues? Not very handy with paper magazines any more...

Thread has been running for almost three years now so you'll need to catch up at the end somewhere.

Pretty sure it's 8pm @ Eddie Rockets, first Wednesday of every month. ;)

Have to say that having been going to car shows since I was about 4, that the "best" Irish show in my estimation has to be Terenure. Classic car live in Mondello is also very good (if maybe a bit lacking in atmosphere because of the concrete setting; partially made up for by the track driving). Durrow is good, but not as good as Terenure, and if you want to see the Creme de la Creme of really old vintage cars (pre 1930) just go along to see the Gordon Bennett based in Naas this year. You will see priceless cars here, for free, that you may not see at any other car show (because many are considered too precious to display at static car shows). See www.ivvcc.ie for more details.

whats the story with booking you car there, do you need to be in a club to bring you car to terenure?

There is no website which is covering all the events ... for example I can't find any web page which is mentioning show in Castletownroche..

Here is my own list I made about a month ago... most of these events are held in Cork county.

11-14 May - Kinsale Int. Rally
20 May - Fermoy (Cork Motor Fest)
    26-27 May - Youghal
    03-04 June - Innishannon
09 June - GAScc (Great American Steel car club) barbeque /// Viaduct Inn
    10 June - Thurles
    17 June - Mondello
    17 June - Connabridge
    23-24 June - Charleville
    1 June (?) - Castletownroche
    15 July - Mogeely
    22 July - Clonakilty
    29 July - Donoughmore
    04-06 Aug - Blarney
    12 Aug - Youghal (Run?)

also keep an eye on Donedeal (Vintage section) and various club websites..

Limerick (VAG) is on 27th May. Great show that sees modern and classics side-by-side.
