Advice on el-cheapo bike.

I have no knowledge of bikes. I would really appreciate it if anyone could advise me on a cheap bike. Is there a huge difference between Eurotrek and Raleigh? How does this compaire to this or this?

I know very little about bikes, though I'm learning fast, but I do have a lot of experience of mechanical stuff and I recently bought one of these Eurotreks, at this stage I've over 500Km done on it and I've had no problems with it.

The components are from the budget end of the range and the frame is probably old technology and heavier than you'd get higher up the ranges but the build quality seems to be fine, there's a years warranty with the bike and Eurocycles are a reputable company who will stand over what they sell, it's hard to expect much more for the price.

The Raleighs are probably slightly newer tech but the suggestion was made to me that both brands are built in the same factory, don't know if that's true.

Unless you're planning on using the bike for mountain biking, I'd be wary of buying one of the linked bikes. If it's commuting and road cycling you're planning to use it for, you'd be better off looking at hybrids.
