cleaning oil sludge from rad

    1.9 D berlingo. HG fault and rad now has sludge inside consistant with grease.
    What the best method to clear this mess out of the rad galleries?

    washing powder works well, put about half a cup full into the expansion bottle, run the engine until it gets hot and drain the system, it will probably take 4 or 5 flushes to get it clean. It might be worth taking out the thermostat to get better cooant flow
