HELP! 06 Golf will not start!

My 2006 1.6FSI Golf will not start.
No lights on the dash board when I turn the key. Also, the central locking is not working.
The car was absolutely perfect two days ago. It was serviced 5,000 miles ago and has 58,000 miles on its clock.

Is this definitely a battery problem or could it be something else?
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks.

The battery is the obvious place to start. Have a look at the terminals for starters, make sure both are still attached. Did you leave anything switched on - lights, radio etc?

Do you have roadside assistance with your insurance, or access to a battery charger?

You'd be pretty certain it's the battery. Get a set of leads and try start it.

CCM comfort control module is probably wet and draining the battery.

Very common problem on other VW vehicles, not sure if it is a problem on the Golfs.
