Students attacked on Ballymun Avenue

    'Dear students,
    There was an incident at the weekend on the Ballymun Avenue in DCU whereby a friend of a DCU student was attacked by a group of individuals (non-students) who had been using the park that evening. It was quite a violent attack and we are obviously very concerned about this. The incident happened at 8.30pm - relatively early in the evening.
    We hope that this was an isolated incident but would advise students to be extra vigilant, ensure to walk in groups at night and have the 24/7 Campus Security Number (7005999) in their mobile phones, should help be required at any time.
    We urge our students to stay together in groups at all times if walking around after dark in any part of the city – and to consider sharing the price of a taxi to get you safely from A to B.'

    Anyone know what happened? I've heard around campus that it was a bad beating! Share details please and any info you may have
