Hi. Guys, My brother has a 99 Altezza and there is a knocking sounding happening when he brakes and turns left but doesn’t knock when he turns and doesn’t brake, he has brought the car to a mechanic and had the car put up on the ramp and he could find nothing wrong with any of the front wheels he said it wasn’t the bushin’s, would anyone have any idea what this might be, this car is Automatic,

    Thanks

    Jamcar

Could be the brake pads moving in the caliper?

I dont think its anthing related to when he turns left. happens ocassionaly when you press the breaks. I had the same problem, im not mechanically minded but i remember the mechanic who fixed mine said it was a missing/broken spring in the breaks (area). cost me about 30 euro to fix. drove me mad though listening to it but it sounds worse than it actually is.

What happens if he brakes in a straight line does it make a knock? Depending on the knock it could be an anti rattle spring(if these have it) or even a ball joint.
