Maintenance Grant Amount

    Having a bit of trouble with the grant amount. I've gotten my letter saying that full non-adjacent grant was awarded. However when it states how much it only says just over 3000. I thought the full maintenance was double that?

    Full and Special Rate are different. To apply for special rate, i think you or one of your parents had to be availing of social welfare before the course..? and you need to be under 27k or something. Not too sure on the exact details, just know that Full is around 3000 and Special is around 5,800.

    Ah thank you, I forgot about the special rate, but I believe I still qualify for that also.

    I said I'd ask here first as the VEC is a pain to get a response from.

    Just to clarify this, to get the special rate there has to be a social welfare payment involved and total income has to be less than approx €22000

    There was a social welfare payment involved and I may check about the €22k but I'm pretty sure it's under that too.
