Same as the portable dvd thread,my local Aldi in Enniscorthy has video senders reduced to €17.99.I assume they are reduced nationwide.

Very handy for sending pictures from your Skybox etc. to another room without running cables.(Remember that you will have to watch the same thing that's on the main tv,still handy though)

It's a silver one,the only pic I could find was a black one which looks different but does the same job.I won't bother posting up the pic of the black one as it'll just confuse people.

I have never ever ever seen one of these work as described.

Bought one before and it was brutal. Much better going with a one4all and paying a little extra.

I got one ages ago and it works perfectly. They have 3 channels to select from, in case you get interference on one just switch to another.

You are lucky so. I tried these in a small house with thin wooden floors. One downstairs and one upstairs. Utterly terrible no matter which channel was tried. Even when I moved them into line of sight at either end of the stairs it was a waste of time.

Be nice to get powerline adaptors that sent audio and video over the grid.

i've had a set of these in my house for over a year now and they work very well. one upstairs and one downstairs.

the channels are very handy as the guy next door had sky and the same video sender and i had chorus on mine, i was picking up sky one evening from next door until i switched channel.

a bargain at the price good spot

Bought one myself, very poor product(assuming its the Tevion model).Picture and sound are ok if you can stop the interference from basic household items like a microwave or kettle. Its a 2.4ghz device so I was expecting some interference.Inlaws house with no wifi pic and sound are fine, here, with wifi, its very poor. The remote only intermittently works with 2 models of sky + boxes and refuses to work with the ir placed directly in front of the box.Having said that, a friend, with a UPC box has no problems with it.
I have a 5 ghz device that works without problems albeit with some line of sight issues.

I have been using one of these for over 2 years and have very little problems.the microwave can cause problems on it but thats it.Would definatly buy them again for that price.

got one of these a couple of months ago and I returned it the next day. Might work fine if its if its closer but the signal didnt go as far as my room :( just got lots of noise

good solution for a short distance through floors/walls but youd need a 5ghz version to go a bit further in house. I bought one in maplin on special and it works great and i can use and watch sky+ via it in my bedroom. You just have to buy and try with them.

Mad, people think they're either great or crap, no middle ground. Mine was bought about 5 years ago and it never worked right but perhaps they have improved.

I use them as remote extenders, only! I found them too noisy for TV.
Have I passed the 'middle ground' test? :P

Guys, would this be any use for my scenario?

I've a sky box hooked up to a projector on one side of the room and I've an LCD TV the other side that's just connected up to a PC.

Could I send the signal from the Sky Box to the TV using this device?

There'd be a lot of wifi crap bouncing around this room now... but the distance between the Sky Box and the TV is only about 4 metres.

The box and the TV are actually in line of sight so the Sky Remote should continue to work.

5.8GHz models are far better than the 2.4GHz, best of spending a bit extra for a decent product.

Are you piping from a sky+ box? If so is your remote working through the little diodes supplied with the lidl transmitter, the picture and sound is 100% with the box i have, but the remote won't work?

yep remote works perfectly (its the last diode on the wire) tok a bit of placing but works fine

I bought the Tevion model about a year ago, picture and sound were perfect. Remote would not work. Bought an ALLinONE from asda for about £15 and its brilliant.
Cant remember if it was the Tevion one (i bought about 3 before i found a good replacement for the one i had for 5 years previous), but one of them required the IR button to be placed within 5mm for the IR sensor on the SKY box, what a load of rubbish.
