thermostatic shower

    I have a shower that will only get luke warm, I think the thermostat is gone,there is no name or markings on the unit, does anyone know what brand it is or where I could get the replacement part, already tried davis in dublin ,no joy

    The pictures don`t look too bad. Try running the shower with the hose disconnected.

    yeah ran it without the hose, no difference.

    Place 4 or 5 "Steredent" tablets in a jug of water and let the mechanism soak overnight.
    It might free up the thermostat.
    Worth trying anyway!

    Worth a try also try pressing the button and setting the shower to max.

    Yes it looks exactly like a carmina thermostatic bar valve. They cost a couple of quid. I bought one and still have it. If the company does not do you a good deal let me know.

    You wont buy the cartridge you will need to buy the whole valve. However RT Large in bluebell sometimes sell the bar valve cartridges. Ring them and see then ask them who is closest to you that you can buy from

    Thanks for the replies, I took the rest of the unit apart ,the filters were all gummed up ,seems to be workin ok now,

    Soak the complete cartridge in vinegar for 12 hours, should clean it up.
