Repierce nipple?

    Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to re-pierce my nipple. I got it done a number of years ago and all was going well until one day I got it badly caught in something and it migrated a little.
I was afraid it would keep migrating so I took it out but now I want it back. You can still see the little holes where the piercing once was but it has healed so you can't push a bar through, would it be possible to get it redone? Or would that be a bad idea?

You probably might be ok to get it redone. Go to a piercer and get them to takea look and they'll ket you know. If you can't there's always the other nipple! :P

I got my same nipple re-pierced cause it closed up. Go to a good piercer, cause you cant pierce through the same spot because of scar tissue, mine went in right below where I had it last time but you can barely see the difference.

Just because it migrated once doesnt mean it will it again, just like I had no guarantee that mine wouldn't reject the second time just because it hadn't the first.

I do worry that it might get rejected but i have other piercings and never had a problem with them migrating think I just majorly disturbed this one by getting it caught.
I have hardly any scar tissue, just a tiny but that only I would notice on one side where the piercing hole is most obvious, do you think that would make a difference for repiercing?
Don't really want to get the other one done cos I don't want scar tissue on both

I was told before that there is no predicting a rejection, regardless of past experiences.

There is scar tissue going through the nipple, the piercer just needs to pierce right below this or above it, to me it still looks like the centre, probably only a millimeter in the distance. As long as it been closed a while its fin to re pierce, mine was out about 7/8 months I think.

Mine is well over a year, maybe a year and a half but it was slow to heal. Was it much more painful the second time you had it done or about the same? I can't really remember the pain the first time- too much adrenaline and my friend was squeezing my hand so hard I thought she might break it :)

I didn't notice any difference, I never found it a painful piercing anyway compared to ear cartlidge. It was fine both times I got it done. Go for it!

Thanks for all the advice Princess Peach, now all I have to do is sum up the courage to do it all over again!

Possibly you've had it redone by now...?

Anyway I had a nipple repierced a few years ago. The piercer went through almost the same track (straighter than my original I think), so it was quite slow going through the scar tissue. It wasn't unbearable pain or anything, just the usual discomfort over a longer time! It was sore on the piercer's finger, pushing the needle through slowly though :D

Had the original piercing for about 2 years & I thought it was starting to move forward so I took it out. Then about 2 years after that I wanted it again, & it's in much the same position as the original, but 2.5 years later I don't think it's moved. There were 2 pink scar dots either side of the original piercing, but nothing disfiguring & sure there's sparkly metal balls there now!

    Hope this helps! :)

Thanks shortie_chik I haven't actually gotten it redone yet. I have been scouting around for somewhere really good to get it done since the place I went to originally has now closed down and i've since learned that they weren't all that great to begin with. I have now found a place that i was hoping to go to this weekend but i realized it was Paddy's day this saturday so they may not be open. Might have to put it off for another week.
I also have to work up the nerve! :-/

Well if Dublin's not too far to travel, I've had all mine done in Snakebite on Abbey St. A few done by Rob & a few by Steve, they're both really sound & know their stuff.
Good luck working up the nerve! Your imagination of what it'll be like is far worse than the reality will be!

Heard loads of good things about AWOL in Galway. No piercings done there but was tattooed there and have nothing but good things to say. Anyone I know who was pierced was happy with it too.

i think the best thing would be to post a pic of the nipple then we can best say wether it would be a good idea to get it redone :)
