England XI - Hart, Richards, Smalling, Cahill, Baines, Parker, Barry, Johnson, Gerrard, Young, Welbeck...

Holland XI - Stekelenburg; Boulahrouz, Heitinga, Mathijsen, Pieters; Van Bommel, De Jong; Robben, Sneijder, Kuyt; Van Persie.

    Looking forward to this!

I just made the mistake of going to bbc.co.uk/sport for the starting 11, bad move.

    Hart,
    Richards, Smalling, Cahill, Baines,
    Parker, Barry,
    Johnson---Gerrard
    Young
    Welbeck

is how I'd have them lined up.

Not sure what I want to happen here. The FA are obviously hoping for an England win so Pearce can sneak into the Euros as manager and while seeing them lose heavily tonight and the ensuing fallout would be funny, I think it'd be funnier for Pearce to take them to the Euros.

I really wish ITV would change that bloody intro to international matches, I fúcking hate that Verve song!

Spend your time worrying about Ireland scoring a goal in the summer ;)

I really like that England team. Can't believe Gerrard is actually going to play for England in his best position.

Alan Green also reckons 4-2-3-1 on BBC radio, but the Guardian hack has 4-3-3 which would be a waste of Gerrard

Hopefully Frazier Campbell gets a decent run. That said, given the two starting line-ups I'll be having a punt on Holland at 6/4.

Hopefully its a good game with a few goals, I think Holland will win 2-1 though

Smalling being very attacking so far!

Am I drunk or are the teams playing the opposite direction when I flick between UTV and Setanta?

lol, that's mad. And it's not like they've just flipped the picture, it's clearly a different camera at the other side of the stadium, and it's not centre which is annoying.

The game is awful, neither team gives a toss.

It's not been too bad, no real chances but the dutch look dangerous.

Two smashing goals from Holland in a couple of minutes. Doesn't look great for Huntelaar or Smalling.

Holland have just shown their class.

Van Persie and Huntelaar. F**k me, what a strike partnership the Dutch could have for the next few years.

He was out cold; being stretchered off now but he's conscious at least

Eh?? RVP and Huntelaar have been around for years? England simply havnt got the players - every top team in the EPL is carried by them "foreigners".

Both are playing their best football and don't look like slowing down. Both together, right now, form one of the best international partnerships in the world. Which is what I meant.

Pierce should be sacked after that! :pac:

Loved the way the commentator was hyping up England's great comeback against Holland (not mentioning that most of Holland's best players had been subbed off) only for Robben to nick the winner at the end and shut him up. :D

Doesn't bode well for the next couple of years. England look so weak through the middle of the defence. I can't see Terry or Ferdinand playing again for various reasons but there's little below them. right now Lescott would be just about the first name on the team sheet, for me, and if Pearce doesn't get the job for the Summer now then he'll have not picking Lescott to blame, IMO.

Two nice finishes for the England goals and Robben's first was great (albeit helped massively by Cahill & Smalling). Not a bad game at all.
