My Son Morris has got the bug or as some call it the disease.. :)
The Spitfire was off the road since 1995 and in dry garage and it shows!!
He hopes to her back on the road in the next 2 years.

The inner area of metal work is very good, however Foot well left and right cornors need work, the outer cills, door bottoms and rear 1/4 section under the bumper are fairly bad. The floors inner cills, boot floor, bulkhead, and the chassis are just perfect.

Here are a number of photos from collect it from the previous owner to where is with it today.

That's an excellent project and thanks for sharing it. I'm happy at the moment to be tinkering with my own motor, bringing it back to it's original showroom condition, but work pressures will put some of that on the back burner for the summer. Bad timing! Liking the look at the Stag and someday I hope to do a full resto on something just as a pastime, and not on a daily driver. Keep us informed and the best of luck with it.

@sogood, Work always has a babit of doing that "getting in the way" timing well the only timing I get right is the ignition timing and even then it ant always right. But we all enjoy getting our hands dirty and enjoy the end results no matter how long they take. Best of luck with yours and I will update as Morris (my son) progress. As I said in my first post it will be a two year project..

It is isnt it!! :) Morris my son had an eye on it for years and he has got the bug which he got from me, we need help !! or do we :)

He will be doing 99% of the work on it himself and I will be giving a hand here and there :). Its lovely original Spitfire in so many ways, meaning it was never restored before and to the best part of it's life it was garaged and it shows. It went off the road in 1995.

It my be finished before 1 ERI yet !!

Sunday Starts out well to get some more work done on the Spitfire

But with delays like doing the brakes on the girlfriends Polo, only got to removed everything from the bluckhead etc and top of dash.

Delighted the paint finish is perfect under the dash top at least I can get a proper colour match when needed :)
