I had bought these to build a second/commuting bike last year but plans have changed. I have the following parts for sale, all are the silver/grey colour, new and unused:

    105 chainset - compact - 172.5mm and 50/34 - €120

Bottom bracket cups (English) - €20

    Rear derailleur - €40

Front derailleur - braze on (double) - €20

Front and rear callipers - €60

    Cassette - 11/28 - €35

I can post or email pictures but either way they are all new and unused.

offer €40 for the front & rear brakes

Sorry, I can't accept €40 for them. They are brand new and unused.

if i were to take the chainset aswell as the brakes and bb what could you do them all for.

only thing is I'm not sure if i need to check the sizes to make sure they fit on my bike, how would i go about that?

also i think i seen before that there is a difference between short and long drops on the brakes - am i right here? how would i know if they will fit my bike

Just to let you know, my bike came with a bastardised groupset, so I already have 105 derailers front and rear, and 105 cassette, so i want to upgrade the other stuff, but it is kind of new territory to me

Hi stevieob - I have already accepted an offer for the chainset, bottom bracket and cassette; so please consider these sold.

I just have the front and rear mechs and brake callipers available.

The majority of frames and brake callipers on the market are short reach. If your frame has been designed to take mudguards and panniers such as a touring frame it may need long reach callipers.

All Campagnolo callipers are short reach and the majority of Shimano ones are too, as are these 105 ones. The "reach" represents the distance from the allen key mounting bolt to the rim and for Campagnolo it is 42mm - 52mm. The following Shimano model at 57mm is suitable for frames requiring a longer reach.

    http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/Brakes-Road-Shimano-R450-57mm-Brakes/SHIMBRAR340000000000

I expect it is unlikely you need these - what frame and brake callipers are currently fitted?

Thanks Letape, I had seen that you had agreed to sell the other stuff so sorry bout that, i was just confusing myself!

I've a felt Z6 2011 model so by what you say, I presume I probably would just need the short reach ones. I will dbl check when I get home, I don't know what brand is on it at the moment

€50 offered, I can't go any more so understand if it is not enough for you.

Can collect anytime (presume you are in dublin)

Nice to meet up. Your Scott Addict looks even better up close, well wear.

I'll txt closer to the weekend to see if you're available for a spin up the hills.

Should be me saying thanks, they are smashing looking brakes, I can't wait to get them on my speed machine!

I had always thought I wanted to get the silver ones but these look so much sleeker.

Pleasure to meet and deal with you and I will let you know about the other thing next week. Do you know if they are the same colour?

Thanks stevieob! I am not sure but will confirm later.

Just to confirm that I still have these for sale...

    - Rear derailleur - €40

    - Front derailleur - braze on (double) - €20

    Will sell both for €50.

Will you except €30 for RD? FD on mine is clamp on so not required. Thanks. Sorry also is the Front derailier a short cage version?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭letape

Hi greenmat - I'd take 35 for the rear derailleur. It is short cage. Let me know if you want to proceed at 35.

If you are looking for a front one, you just need to buy a 32mm or 35mm band for this to fit your frame.
