How do people feel about Samsung's answer to the iPod Touch. I'd certainly welcome it if they undercut the price of an iPod Touch. Has anybody gotten to use it themselves?

I don't see the point of it. Its a phone that cant make calls basically (with a relatively low resolution camera) and ships with Gingerbread.

It's a media player. Just like an iPod Touch like I said..

Yes but is that market segment actually growing? I thought with with growth of mid range smartphone that this segment would of been in decline so I can't really see a need for it.

I know what it is and what you said....but what I don't understand is the point of it much the same way as I don't really see the point of an ipod touch.

Anyone who carries one of these around will almost certainly have a phone. What are the benefits of using two devices rather than one? The Wifi 4.2 has no extra features to offer over an Android phone, it might have a slightly longer battery life due to it not having cell connectivity but that's it (and yet to be seen)

Its Wifi so you have internet access when in range of a wireless access point but what about when you don't. How many apps are rendered useless without data connectivity?

There are phones capable of doing all it does and more. Pricing will be interesting.

Haven't they had the media player 4 and 5 like this already ?
How does this one differ from those ?

I have an S WiFi 5.0. It's brilliant. Better quality screen to the 4.2 and it's a little more versatile too.

I don't need an android phone, I have a work phone, but agree with others here... If you're paying your own bill, why carry around two devices. Just buy an Android phone and cut out the need for two devices in your pocket/bag.

Yeah, I dont see the market.

What would be nice is if we saw the same with a large HDD or SSD that could compete with the iPod Classic but also be a browser/games platform etc.
