I'm in the process of replacing the kitchen taps in the mothers house and I've run into a problem

I have one of these things:

Which was ok in my own place as everything was brand new.
but in the mothers house it's useless as the couplings are seized onto the threads of both taps

The plumbing in the kitchen hasn't been touched since the late 60's when the house was built,
and it looks like no gasket was ever used, resulting in 40-ish years of little drips of water settling onto the threads.

This thing has caught my eye, it works out at about €30 for a 1/2" and 3/4" set

( I already have a full socket set - extension bars - and If I get really really frustrated an impact driver :D )

Has anyone here used them? - any feedback on them?

I've seen them on a few websites, postage wise some place in Limerick works out cheapest - about €30 inc. delivery

Access isn't great under the sink, so I don't want to go at it with any type of blow torch.
I have a 2kw DeWalt Heatgun, which I could use to expand the metal, hoping it breaks the seal
But I don't want to chance it as the wood frame for the sink isn't in fantastic shape, so heat isn't an ideal option

    Any advice? - cheers!
